The event, which took place on the Museum&#8217;s Current Science and Technology Stage, drew a diverse crowd that included families with young children, seniors, Veterans, and family members of active duty military. This year&#8217;s conference was a resounding success, with approximately 200 BU faculty, staff, students, and community members in attendance. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/camed\/center-for-military-and-post-deployment-health-2\/upcoming-events\/fifth-annual-joining-forces-conference-is-an-ongoing-pledge\/\" title=\"Fifth Annual Joining Forces Conference is an Ongoing Pledge\">Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A recording of this year&#8217;s conference is available <a href=\"https:\/\/echo360.bu.edu:8443\/ess\/echo\/presentation\/4280e7a7-f736-492c-8c5d-ed1e77b2eb93\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><em>Teens Experience the \u201cCool\u201d Side of Science in Summer Visits<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">July-August, 2016<br \/>\nCLF\/VA Brain Bank, VA Bedford, MA<br \/>\nNational Emerging\u00a0Infectious Disease Lab (NEIDL), Boston, MA<\/p>\n<p>It may seem surprising to hear teenagers refer to science as \u201ccool,\u201d \u201cexciting,\u201d or \u201cintense,\u201d but those are the adjectives high school interns used to describe their experiences at Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) labs this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Military and Post Deployment Health has facilitated a partnership between the BU Medical Campus and\u00a0the Museum of Science on initiatives aimed at attracting more students to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
