Anderson, MD, and Lee E. Goldstein MD, PhD, co-directors of the center, provide administrative oversight, and are responsible for all three of these devices.<\/p>\n<p>Scanning time on the 9.4T, 3T and ultrasound devices can be scheduled using the\u00a0<a style=\"text-decoration: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/bostonu.ilab.agilent.com\/account\/login\">iLab Scheduler system<\/a>. The device is equipped with new high-end performance gradient and RF design combined with innovative compressed sensing and multiband technologies.<\/p>\n<p>This is the ideal scanner for use with humans or large animals. Andrew Ellison, MA, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the 3T Philips Ingenia Elition scanner.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/camed\/research\/cores\/biomedical-imaging-center\/#3tmri\">9.4T\/20cm Bruker BioSpec MRI<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bostonu.ilab.agilent.com\/account\/login\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/camed\/files\/2020\/09\/bruker-revised-image.jpg\" alt=\"Book it now!\" width=\"472\" height=\"335\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-88111 size-full\" title=\"Book 9.4T\/20 cm Bruker MRI now!\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Center of Biomedical Imaging houses a 9.4T Bruker BioSpec MRI. It has a bore size of 20 cm and is equipped with a state-of-art CryoProbes. The 9.4T system provides imaging capacities ranging from small animals (e.g., rats and mice) to ex vivo tissue samples.<\/p>\n<p>Both MRI scanners are located in the basement of the Evans Biomedical Research Center, X-Building, 650 Albany St., Boston. The Center provides MRI scan time, as well as expertise in all modalities of magnetic resonance imaging for the Boston University community and for external researchers.<\/p>\n<p>Ning Hua, PhD, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the 9.4T Bruker scanner. All new projects must first be discussed with Dr. Hua to determine feasibility and initiate planning of experiments. The device comes with different channel options, a broad frequency range, and capability of multi-channel arbitrary waveform generation. The Verasonics systems are easily programmable, which utilize MATLAB\u00ae interface and has over 500 example scripts. The Verasonics system is an ideal tool for pre-clinical ultrasound research.
