The Center for Military Health at Boston University will be hosting another online seminar on “How to Secure DoD Funding” this Fall. The webinar will be led by consultants from Lewis-Burke Associates. Following the presentation, Professor Darren Roblyer<\/a> will share his experience in applying for DoD funding and the event will then end with a Q&A session. We would like to invite all BU faculty, staff, and students who are interested in military research to join us for this online event. Please register using the link below.<\/span><\/p>\n

Together with BMC Human Resources we held a virtual gathering to salute fellow BUMC\/BMCHS veterans on their service and honored their contributions to our community. The virtual event featured a panel and roundtable discussion led by veteran colleagues!<\/p>\n

3-Year “Health Professions Scholarship Program” Virtual Info Session<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday, October 26th, 2020; 5:00pm<\/p>\n

The Center for Military Health at Boston University invited first-year medical students to learn more about the 3-year Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). In this virtual info session, students heard from a former HPSP recipient, Dr. Glenn Markenson, who is a current BUSM professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition, students had a chance to ask local recruiters questions regarding HPSP. The info session was held on Monday, October 26th at 5pm.<\/p>\n

A Call to Arms: Advancing Women\u2019s Health Research in the Military Symposium<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Panel<\/p>\n

Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation aimed at supporting Veterans, service members transitioning to civilian life, and their spouses in their search for meaningful employment. Recently, the program hosted a community roundtable at the downtown offices of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. The event highlighted Boston\u2019s history of military community and family support and showcased many leading industries that have demonstrated a commitment to hiring Veterans and military members. Representatives from the city\u2019s academic community were invited to discuss trends in Veteran and military employment and career support.<\/p>\n

Anna Hohler, MD, Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of the Boston University Center for Military and Post Deployment Health, served as a panelist for a discussion titled \u201cCharles River Chat: Addressing Health & Wellness Issues and Employment Impacts.\u201d Read more.<\/a><\/p>\n

Museum of Science Brain Health Fair

As part of an ong\"Groupoing collaboration with the Museum of Science, we participated\u00a0in the Museum\u2019s annual Brain Health Fair on March 17-18. This event brings together researchers and clinicians from many local institutions to present activities to Museum visitors on an area of brain health. This year\u2019s focus was \u201cTechnology and the Brain.\u201d Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n
