{"id":109515,"date":"2022-12-13T14:44:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-13T19:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/busm\/?page_id=109515"},"modified":"2025-11-20T13:28:43","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T18:28:43","slug":"resident-educator-of-the-year-award","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/camed\/offices-services\/faculty-affairs-office\/resident-educator-of-the-year-award\/","title":{"rendered":"BU Chobanian &#038; Avedisian School of Medicine Resident Educator of the Year Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Resident Educator of the Year Award recognizes interns\/residents at BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine clinical sites, including BMC, BMC Brighton, VA and other Affiliated sites, who delivers exceptional education to BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine medical students during their clerkship year through their clinical teaching, feedback, and mentoring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interns\/residents at any of the BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine clinical sites, including BMC, BMC Brighton, VA and other affiliated sites during the clerkship year<\/li>\n<li>Past recipients are not eligible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Criteria for nomination: <\/strong>Though these criteria are not exhaustive, competitive nominees will have demonstrated some of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellence in teaching based on student nominations<\/li>\n<li>Engagement and enthusiasm teaching 3<sup>rd<\/sup> year medical students<\/li>\n<li>Provides actionable feedback that allows students to grow as clinical students<\/li>\n<li>Role model of professionalism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who can nominate:<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">3<sup>rd<\/sup><\/span> year Clerkship Students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nomination Process:<\/strong> A formal nomination letter addressing the most outstanding teaching attributes of the faculty based on above criteria should be submitted to BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine Award Committee (camedfao@bu.edu).<\/p>\n<p>The nomination letter should not exceed one page with minimum font 11 point and must include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nominee&#8217;s name, Department, Name of Residency Program Director, and the year in residency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Previous Awardees<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>2023 Jia Jeannie Xu, MD<\/li>\n<li>2024 Vanessa Villamarin, MD<\/li>\n<li>2025 Isa Jacoba, MD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Resident Educator of the Year Award recognizes interns\/residents at BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine clinical sites, including BMC, BMC Brighton, VA and other Affiliated sites, who delivers exceptional education to BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine medical students during their clerkship year through their clinical teaching, feedback, and mentoring.
