The Boston University Summer Training as Research Scholars Program<\/a> (STaRS) is a 10-week, on-site summer research program that provides undergraduate students and first-year Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine students the opportunity to participate in hands-on research while developing the skills needed to pursue graduate or MD\/PhD training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twelve students worked in medical campus labs and collaborated closely with mentors gaining research experience. A mini-symposium was held on July 30, where 11 students presented their original research projects. BU StaRS is supported by an NIH grant and is directed by Beth Bragdon<\/a>, PhD, assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
