Chad W. Farris<\/a>, MD, PhD, assistant professor of radiology, presented at the Alzheimer\u2019s Association International Conference<\/a> (AAIC) in Toronto, Canada. Farris shared a number of findings including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women who experience traumatic brain injury (TBI) \u2014 a well-known risk factor for dementia \u2014 are more likely to experience shrinkage in areas of the brain that are associated with Alzheimer\u2019s disease and other dementias than men with TBI, according to an analysis of data from the Framingham Heart Study. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
