Student Leadership:

Students (Physicians) for a National Health Program is a single issue organization advocating for a universal, comprehensive single-payer national health insurance program. SNaHP/PNHP has more than 20,000 members and multiple chapters across the United States. We believe that access to high-quality health care is a right of all people and should be provided equitably as a public service rather than bought and sold as a commodity. We oppose for-profit control, and especially corporate control, of the health system and favor democratic control, public administration, and single-payer financing. We view this campaign as part of the campaign for social justice in the United States. The mission of the BU student chapter of PNHP is therefore to educate our colleagues and the general public on the need for a comprehensive, high-quality, publicly-funded health care program, equitably-accessible to all residents of the United States. We aim to organize medical students, other health professional students, physicians, and the public in support of this program and promote discussion of U.S. health policy through lectures, articles, conferences, and other methods.
