Ravand Khazai, MD

Biography
Dr. Rav Khazai is an orthopaedic traumatologist who specializes in the management of acute traumatic injuries and in post-traumatic reconstruction. His focuses include management of complex fractures, in particular those of the pelvis and acetabulum, malunion and nonunion repair, and limb deformity correction.
As part of Steward Medical Group, Dr. Khazai primarily manages patients through the inpatient Orthopaedic Trauma Service at Good Samaritan and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, but routinely sees consultations and less acute injuries through the Steward Orthopaedic Clinics in North Easton, MA.
His orthopaedic training was completed at the University of Chicago, with additional subspecialty fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma at the University of California Davis, as well as further fellowship training in trauma and septic surgery at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has experience at several Level 1 Trauma Centers, working with medical students and residents, teaching surgical skills and the concepts behind orthopaedic trauma care.
He has an academic background with a strong passion for education. Dr. Khazai is involved with the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and AO Trauma North America. He has several peer-reviewed publications and is active in clinical research to further the field of trauma care.
