Sarah Kimball, MD, Named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for November

The Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Associate Professor of Medicine/GIM Sarah Kimball, MD, has been named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for November.

A member of the BU community since October 2014, Dr. Kimball is the director of the Immigrant & Refugee Health Center at Boston Medical Center. She previously served as the medical director of the Boston Accountable Care Organization Complex Care Management program at the hospital. In addition to a love of primary care, her main interest is in teaching social justice and advocacy skills.

Her nominators say, “Dr. Kimball has led a very active effort in the section of general internal medicine to engage in anti-racism activities.

“She formed discussion groups for GIM faculty, engaged grand rounds speakers, and collected input from the anti-racism committee for the section chief hire.

“Dr. Kimball works to promote gender and race equity in hiring and academic advancements.
