BUSM LISTSERV EMAILS/ ELECTRONIC MAILING LIST

As a medical student, you are automatically subscribed to your class year electronic mailing list upon arrival at BUSM to stay informed of class notices, class meetings, events, and to receive communications from the BUSM administration.

Each BUSM student class has an electronic mailing list: BUSM-2022-list, BUSM-2023-list, etc. You are required to follow the Conditions of Use Policy: E-mail Communications BUSM “Boston University Conditions of Use and Policy on Computing Ethics.”

In order to send an email to a listserv, you need to gain access. If you would like to be added to any other class listserv at any given time, then follow the instructions below for subscribing and sending to the mailing lists.

HOW TO GAIN ACCESS TO ADDITIONAL EMAIL LISTS

Send an email to Pedro Falci (pcfalci@bu.edu) requesting that you be added to one of the class lists. In Pedro’s absence, please contact Nichole Ciccarelli (ngcicca@bu.edu).

HOW TO SEND EMAIL TO MEDICAL STUDENT MAILING LISTS

Your email address must already be subscribed to the mailing list to which you will be sending your message. Please use the following addresses for the mailing lists (the class year is contained in the address) e.g.:

busm-2024-list@bu.edu

busm-2023-list@bu.edu

busm-2022-list@bu.edu

Follow these guidelines:

  1. Always include a descriptive subject in the “Subject” slot of your email.
  2. Do not send messages to the mailing lists more than twice.
  3. Include a contact person with an email address in your message.
  4. Do not use all capital letters for the entire message (these are difficult to read.)

HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM BUSM MAILING LISTS

If you want to remove yourself from a mailing list, send the following command in email:

To: busm-2020-list-request@bu.edu
Subject: (leave this section blank)
Body: unsubscribe

OPTION 2
To: majordomo@bu.edu
Subject: (leave this section blank)
Body: unsubscribe busm-2020-list

HOW TO SEND AN EMAIL TO OTHER MEDICAL CAMPUS STUDENTS

A staff person moderates the mailing lists for Dental, GMS, and SPH students. To send email to these student mailing lists, forward your email to the following person who will then approve its delivery and send it for you.
