Biography

My clinical research interests are focused on women’s health and HIV infection as well as the prevention of transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted Infections to uninfected partners. I was the Principal Investigator for the ARTEMIS ( Assisted Reproduction Therapy and Education Model In Serodiscordants) study, an IRB-sponsored study recently closed for assessing the feasibility and acceptability of assisted reproduction services to reduce HIV transmission risk to uninfected partners in HIV-affected couples desiring a biological child. Much of my research interests are generated from my role as Infectious Disease Director of the Positive HOPE (HIV-OB Program and Education), a multidisciplinary collaboration between the section of Infectious Disease and the Department of OB/Gyn at Boston Medical Center providing prenatal care and prevention of perinatal transmission of HIV infection for all HIV-infected pregnant women followed at BMC.
Future directions for my research include exploring additional harm reduction options for assisted reproduction for HIV-affected couples including PREP ( Pre-exposure Prophylaxis).
