Biography

Our focus is to develop novel optical techniques for fundamental research and clinical applications. The research includes the development of inverse spectroscopic optical coherence tomography (ISOCT) and metabolic optical coherence tomography applicable in vivo, with ISOCT being sensitive to nanoscale tissue structural changes and metabolic OCT being able to quantify tissue oxygen metabolism. In addition, we also develop methods for label-free optical angiography on live animals. We are also interested in novel optical endoscopy, super resolution microscopy for fundamental science, biosensing and computational optics. The clinical applications encompass cancer early detection, eye diseases such as glaucoma, and aging diseases etc.
