Biography

Expertise in clinical practice guidelines for child and adolescent psychiatry.
Expertise in behavioral health integration in pediatric and school settings.
Expertise in health promotion and preventive interventions in schools.

Dr. Walter previously was Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. In addition to her current appointments at Boston University School of Medicine, she is Senior Lecturer on Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Walter is Chair of the Committee on Quality Issues for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which develops national clinical guidelines for the practice of child and adolescent psychiatry. She is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
