Biography

I am a general academic pediatrician and health services researcher with a focus on strengthening families and preventing child maltreatment. I am clinically trained in Pediatrics and have a Masters of Science in Epidemiology. My prior research has focused on improving the quality of care provided for abused and neglected children by child protection teams, improving communication of recommended parenting practices in general pediatrics, and developing selective child maltreatment prevention interventions for high-risk families. I also teach and write about evidence-based theory and methods as they apply to health services research. My research has been funded by NICHD, PCORI, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I am the Program Director for the General Academic Pediatric fellowship at Boston Medical Center/Boston University School of Medicine. Our fellowship is part of a larger multidisciplinary fellowship program that is a collaboration between the Departments of Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine. I am committed to providing high-level research and career mentorship to undergraduates, medical students, residents, and pediatric fellows.
