Biography

Dr. Uribe Rivera, has joined as Clinical Assistant Professor In the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He obtained his DDS from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, in Monterrey Mexico in 2002. and is an OMS graduate from the 4-year program at the Centro Medico Nacional “20 de Noviembre” ISSSTE in Mexico City. After his OMS training, Dr. Uribe Rivera completed his training in Craniofacial Surgery, with special interest in mandibular distraction and surgical management of cranial vault techniques in an internationally renowned Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department in Mexico. Dr. Uribe Rivera has completed a Research Fellowship from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science diploma in Clinical Investigation program from the University of Rochester. He will be responsible for helping design clinical investigations in our department and guide resident research. Armando will also coordinate international surgical mission trips for our residents to increase their exposure to cleft and craniofacial surgery. Dr. Uribe Rivera’s primary research interest focuses on acute postoperative pain management and clinical and translational research in the field of craniofacial surgery. His clinical interests include complex dentoalveolar surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery and pediatric mandibular distraction osteogenesis techniques.
