Diana Abbas
Introducing Ob/Gyn bound Diana Abbas, a passionate advocate, both on a micro-scale with patients and on a macro-scale in the reproductive health world.
Lauren Bielick
Introducing Lauren Bielick, a former nurse and baker extraordinaire who is headed for a residency in IM. When she isn’t creating baking masterpieces, Lauren is using her extensive healthcare knowledge to advocate for her patients.
Preston Butler
We welcome Preston Butler, who values continuity as a powerful way to deliver patient-centered care. As a future Family Medicine doctor, he knows that providing primary care to entire families will help him understand & address the dynamic social factors affecting their health.
Joseph Cannella
Joseph Cannella, an aspiring Anesthesiologist emphasizes compassion and treatment of the human spirit in his care of patients. He has led novel initiatives for the homeless community in the Boston area including a mask initiative during the COVID pandemic
Prahan Chetlur
Introducing IM-bound Prahan Chetlur, a close listener who leans into complicated conversations. Prahan seeks new answers to longstanding healthcare issues and believes in hacking healthcare problems, especially when standard approaches don’t seem like they will work for patients.
Jae Cho
Meet Jae Cho, a future surgeon who seeks to improve patient outcomes by means of advocacy and outreach through national policy discourse. During medical school, Jae has been dedicated to community-building through SCOMSA and fostering camaraderie among medical student peers.
Samuel Hsu
Introducing Samuel Hsu, who is applying into ophthalmology. With his commitment to building longitudinal relationships with patients, he hopes to provide the information and support they need to be engaged in their own health and feel comforted despite uncertain health outcomes.
Chinaemere (Chino) Igwebuike
Introducing general surgery-bound Chinaemere (Chino) Igwebuike, an MD/PhD candidate who invests significant time to ensure that the families of critically ill patients are kept up-to-date. Chino believes that this conscientious and diligent communication greatly improves care.
Kantiya Jindachomthong
Kathi is a warm-hearted and optimistic future Ophthalmologist who brings intrinsic positivity and compassion to her patients, devoting her extracurricular work to improving outcomes for patients with ocular pathology.
Julia Krumholz
Julia Krumholz is a passionate advocate for increased access to care, and has worked to increase access to care for women transitioning from pregnancy to early postpartum life as well as for their new children. Her kindness and supportive nature allow her to connect deeply with others, and will serve her future Family Medicine colleagues and patients well.
Kapua Mele Meyer
Meet Kapua Mele Meyer! This soon-to-be Family Medicine doctor brings her enthusiasm for life to each of her patients. Her talents extend from medicine to her graceful hula dancing and ukulele playing! Forming meaningful relationships with patients is at the heart of her practice.
Janet Monroe
Introducing Janet Monroe, an IM-bound advocate for the health of the LGBTQ+ community. Janet is passionate about medicine informed by the context of her patients’ lives, and mentors LGBTQ+ adolescents with housing insecurity to foster a safer space for them to seek healthcare.

Meet Renata Mukai, a future OBGYN and our FIRST ever BUSM GHHS chapter President! Renata is a gifted writer and narrator who wishes to empower both her patients and peers by letting them tell their story.
Hannah Mumber
Hannah Mumber is a brilliant future Dermatologist who is devoted to using her knowledge to care for patients as whole people. She serves as a committed advocate for humanism in pediatric care, and her bilingual understanding of cultural nuances adds depth to her ability to relate to others.
Philomena Nwanze
Introducing combined FM and psych bound, Philomena Nwanze, an empath in her interactions with patients and colleagues. She never hesitates to assist, and is eager to gain a deeper understanding of others. After residency, she hopes to address both the physical and mental needs for medically and socially complex patients.
Masis Parunyan
Introducing Masis Parunyan! This soon to be Pathologist is one of the most genuine, empathetic, and talented individuals you will ever meet! From playing the piano and double bass, to singing in choir, to conducting- he is sure to brighten your day with his musical abilities. His keen eye and careful observational skills coupled with his unmatched passion for learning will serve him well in pathology and in life.
Momoko Ponsetto
Momoko Ponsetto, applying into Ophthalmology this year, seeks to end socioeconomic disparities among individuals in need of eye & vision care. In her free time, she loves volunteering with local initiatives and organizations aimed at helping Boston’s local homeless community.
Sarah Rodriguez
Meet Sarah Rodriguez, a future OB/GYN who brings her steady and uplifting nature to patient bedsides and team settings every day, using her warmth and energy to promote women’s health.
Shayna Schor
Introducing Shayna, who continues to use her sincere patience every day as she moves toward becoming a compassionate Internal Medicine physician. Her insightful work in mental health promotion, a whole-patient approach, and mother-child wellness epitomize her focus on improving patient-centered care.
Sarah Singh
We welcome Sarah Singh, a soon-to-be graduate of the seven year medical program who uniquely blends creativity in addressing social determinants of health with a passion for surgery and improving its social responsibility.
Maria Suarez-Gama
Maria is a talented dancer, a true empath, and a wise light who consistently sets an example of fearlessness in fighting for women’s health and improved outcomes, health experiences, and care for underserved patient populations.
Akhil Uppalapati
Introducing Akhil Uppalapati, a future anaesthesiologist who is committed to reassuring his patients on human level through difficult procedures. Akhil has a particular passion for caring for the geriatric population and wishes to continue community-service efforts for this patient population.
Kevin Urlaub
Introducing Kevin Urlaub, a future plastic surgeon whose quiet perceptiveness, love for dogs and food, and research have all added to his ability to provide exceptional care to patients. Kevin is also a dedicated teacher and invests himself in educating both peers and patients alike.
Max Vaikus
Introducing Max Vaixus, a future orthopedic surgeon who wishes to address care for patients who come for disadvantaged backgrounds. His kindness and ability to strike up conversation are shared regularly with patients, allowing him to empower and support them as they heal.
Rita Wang
Meet Rita Wang, a pediatrics bound advocate passionate about immigration health. You can find Rita’s hard work all around our community from the food and clothing she delivers with the Outreach Van Project to her support of pediatric outreach programs with the Rodman Ride.
Libby Ward
Introducing Libby Ward, a compassionate and reassuring presence for her patients and her peers. Libby goes above and beyond to take care of others, treating each individual holistically in order to provide comprehensive care.
Korode Yoloye
Korode Yoloye is a seven-year BU Terrier who is full of the energy that the future of medicine needs! She is a future pediatrician, loyal friend, and talented lover of music and singing.
