Dr. Cheryl Scott is being honored for her noteworthy career in public and international service. Her lecture will focus on the health disparities of black women, the research that established a framework for US maternal and infant mortality, and the growing body of literature that examines the important role of racism and chronic stress in the rising rates of maternal and infant death among African American women.
