Laurie Craigen, PhD, Named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for March

headshot of Laurie CraigenThe Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Laurie Craigen, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry, and faculty in the Mental Health Counseling master’s program, has been named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for March. 

Craigen completed her PhD in 2006 at The College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia.

Her nominators say, “Dr. Craigen has taken a leadership role around equity in applicant admissions and as a result, admissions have skyrocketed. She leads our admissions committee with a multi-tiered strategy to manage this growth thoughtfully and with an inclusive lens.

“Dr Craigen played an instrumental role in developing new courses, seminars and innovative pedagogical designs. She built an international global health course with a service-learning component that will be the first of its kind in the program.

“Dr. Craigen is a champion for her students! … she always helps others see the bigger picture or the smaller nugget of perspective.”
