Charlene Julien-Bhatt Named November Distinguished Faculty of the Month

Headshot of Charlene Julien BhattThe Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Charlene Julien-Bhatt, MSN, MSPS, is November’s Distinguished Faculty of the Month.

Now an assistant professor of family medicine, Julien-Bhatt joined the BUSM community in 2016. She received her BA an MSPS from Suffolk University, and her BSN and MSN (family nurse practitioner) from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. She also completed the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) Nurse Practititoner Fellowhsip.

Her nominators say, “Charlene is a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner who had previously trained and worked in GI Hepatology. Her empathy and demeanor allow her to strongly connect with the largely safety net population at our Melnea Cass office, both as an under-represented minority and through language – she speaks both Spanish and Haitian-Creole. Her commitment to this population overflows into her volunteer work.

“Through volunteer mentorship, she supports and encourages patients with low-income, who are underrepresented (all but two identify as Black or African-American), to pursue stable, high-potential careers, mostly in nursing and medicine.”

Congratulations!
