Carl Streed Named GBCC Outstanding Young Leader

The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) and City Awake have named Carl G. Streed Jr., MD, a 2019 Ten Outstanding Young Leaders (TOYL) honoree.

The TOYL Awards are presented annually by City Awake, a program of the GBCC aimed at connecting, engaging and celebrating next-generation leaders. The awards celebrate the contributions of current and emerging young greater Boston leaders who have demonstrated professional, personal and civic commitment to improving the quality of life within our region.

Dr. Streed will be recognized on Monday, Nov. 4, at the 2019 Our Convention. Recipients will discuss the work they are leading within their organizations, their industries, and in their communities. They will also share their visions for keeping greater Boston a thriving region for businesses and people far into the future.

Our Convention is the region’s largest convention for young professionals, drawing more than 500 attendees looking to strengthen their networks, participate in leadership development workshops and sessions, and lend their perspectives and voices to some of the most pressing issues facing greater Boston’s competitiveness. Affordability, housing, public transit, inclusivity and climate readiness are just a few topics scheduled for discussion at Our Convention. The event is part of City Awake’s mission to create a platform to engage Boston’s next generation of leaders, understand their perceptions of the region, address their challenges living and working here, and elevate their voices in creating solutions to civic, business and policy issues.

The 2019 Ten Outstanding Young Leaders were nominated by members of the community and selected by a committee of past TOYL honorees.
