Instructional Building, Hiebert Lounge

On July 1, Dr. Tom Moore will be stepping down from his roles as Executive Director of the Office of Human Research Affairs and as Associate Provost. To recognize his contributions, we have planned a two-part celebration event in Hiebert Lounge on Monday, April 23.

COM_appel chobanian 3-4 p.m.
Dr. Larry Appel from Johns Hopkins and our own Dr. Aram Chobanian, BU President Emeritus and BUSM Dean Emeritus, will discuss the new high blood pressure guidelines and the 40 million additional Americans who now meet the new definition of hypertension. Dr. Appel will focus on the importance of the eating patterns that have been shown to lower blood pressure. (Drs. Moore and Appel were collaborators in the development of the DASH diet, which is one of the most effective of these eating patterns.)
COM-cheers 4-5 p.m.
All are invited to a reception, where we will have a chance to thank Tom for his many contributions to the Medical Campus.
