Chitalia, MD, PhD<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Modeling the Anemia Elicited by Chronic Kidney Disease in Zebrafish<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The goal of this research is to uncover how the interplay between microRNAs and uremic solutes orchestrate the responsiveness to erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESA) in chronic kidney disease (CKD). To this end, this project will model the anemia of CKD using zebrafish embryos as a model system<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/busm-wci\/files\/2021\/02\/vijaya-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"112\" height=\"119\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2451\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.bu.edu\/Vijaya.Kolachalama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Vijaya B. Kolachalama, PhD<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prediction of Knee Pain Using Ultrasound Imaging and Machine Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This project (in collaboration with Dr. Juan-Pablo Lopez-Zertuche Ortiz, Dr. Eugene Kissin, and Dr. David Felson) proposes to develop advanced machine learning approaches that can process ultrasound images to predict knee pain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to Drs.
