Faculty in the department with research interests that use different model systems and technologies.
In addition to faculty laboratories that concentrate their studies in a particular area of research interest, there are labs whose work uses unique model systems like zebra fish to model human disease and identify new pharmaceutical targets, mouse QTL functional mapping for target identification, human stem cells for open discovery, or cutting edge technologies like in vivo high density electrophysiological recordings in brain to provide a functional map of drug action using probe compounds. We also have labs with expertise in clinical studies and the identification of human biomarkers of disease.
