Miller, M.D<\/u>.<\/strong> presented \u201cA point of view about point of care testing for diagnostic microbiology in the U.S.\u201d at the Global Applied Microbiology Conference, October 18-19, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Dr.<\/u><\/strong><strong><u> Miller<\/u><\/strong> presented also as ASM Distinguished Lecturer at the Southern California Branch-American Society for Microbiology, October 27-28, La Jolla, CA.<\/li>\n<li>Also at La Jolla, <strong><u>Dr. Miller<\/u><\/strong> was invited to a breakout Educators\u2019 Session and presented, \u201cClinical Microbiology at the Crossroads: A Potpourri of Challenges and Lessons Learned in this Era of Evolving Technology\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Residents Mahmoud Soliman, MD<\/u><\/strong> (presenter) and <strong><u>Israa Laklouk, MD<\/u><\/strong> (author) got an Honorable Mention for abstract titled &#8220;Predictive Accuracy of Thyroseq V2 for Malignant Thyroid Nodules among Bethesda-III Cytology Subcategories: Atypia of Undetermined Significance (AUS) And Follicular Lesion of Undetermined Significance (FLUS)\u201d in Twelfth Annual MMS Research Poster Symposium for Residents, Fellows and Medical Students (Clinical Research category)<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Dr. Mostafa Belghasem\u2019s<\/u><\/strong> work was featured on the front cover of \u201cScience Translational Medicine\u201d Vol 9 Issue 417 (Nov. 22. 2017) titled: Cover story: <strong>Anticoagulation strikes a balance <\/strong>Sample cover image attached if you would like to check it out: <a href=\"http:\/\/stm.sciencemag.org\/content\/9\/417\">http:\/\/stm.sciencemag.org\/content\/9\/417<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Dr. Susan Winandy<\/u><\/strong> has received new grant funding:\u00a0 &#8220;Defining programs of gene expression regulated by Ikaros in T cells&#8221;
