Our faculty employs multi-disciplinary and state-of-the-art approaches to study the basis of disease at the molecular genetic cellular and whole-organism levels.<\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; padding: 2%;\">\n<p>Current foci of research by departmental faculty and students include:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>disorders of brain development and normal aging<\/li>\n<li>disorders of cell cycle and cell signaling in the pathogenesis and progression of colorectal, breast and hematopoietic cancers<\/li>\n<li>normal and abnormal immunological responses to infectious agents and environmental toxins and to other stimuli that may be responsible for amyloidosis or autoimmune disease, disorders of control of energy metabolism related to pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus and
