I am currently working as a postdoctoral associate in the laboratory of Dr. Mikel Garcia-Marcos. My current research in the lab focused on two aspects, firstly to generate new tools to study G protein activation and signalling. My second aim is to identify of novel G protein binding peptides to leverage them as tools for studying G protein function.<\/p>\n
My previous postdoctoral research experience has been in the field of calcium signalling in the context of skin pigmentation, where I helped identify the key melanogenic protein MITF as the transcriptional regulator of the ER calcium sensor STIM1. I also looked at the role of mitochondrial calcium homeostatsis in regulating pigmentation.<\/p>\n
