The students and \u00a0their advisors are listed below:<\/p>\n<p>1. Stephanie Seidl (Schreiber)<br \/>\n2. Johann Bergholz (Xiao)<br \/>\n3. Hicham Naimy (Zaia)<br \/>\n4. Nadezda Sargaeva (O&#8217;Connor)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2384 alignleft\" src=\"\/biochemcellbio\/files\/2010\/02\/Travel2010-505x300.png\" alt=\"Travel2010\" width=\"505\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/biochemcellbio\/files\/2010\/02\/Travel2010-505x300.png 505w, https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/biochemcellbio\/files\/2010\/02\/Travel2010.png 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 505px) 100vw, 505px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These awards are made possible by the generosity of Dr. and Ms. \u00a0Franzblau and will provide funds to defer the costs of travel for these students to present their research at a national\/international \u00a0scientific conference. \u00a0This year&#8217;s award selection committee was \u00a0comprised of members of the Biochemistry Department Student \u00a0Affairs Committee (Matthew Layne (chair), Phillip Stone, Karen Symes and Matthew Nugent). The Department \u00a0thanks the selection committee for their careful consideration of all \u00a0the applicants.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee would also like to make sure that all graduate students in the department are aware that the Division of Graduate Medical Sciences will provide up to $250 of travel money for students to attend a scientific meeting. \u00a0Inquires can be made directly through the GMS office regarding this opportunity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Student Affairs Committee is pleased to announce the winners of \u00a0this year&#8217;s Myrna and Carl Franzblau Student Travel Awards.
