This two-year, $200,000 grant is entitled \u201cUse of super-resolution microscopy to visualize the interaction between Alzheimer therapeutic antibodies and A\u03b2 aggregates\u201d. This project aims to identify the molecular mechanism of action of several different clinical antibodies by localizing them on single A\u03b2 aggregates. This information will contribute significantly to understanding the basic biology of amyloid and its role in Alzheimer\u2019s disease, and will provide a fuller picture of molecular mechanisms responsible for detoxifying oligomers and enhancing their clearance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ladan Amin\u00a0 an Instructor in\u00a0the\u00a0Harris laboratory\u00a0was recently awarded a R03 research grant, funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
