<\/p>\nThe BU-AMP\u2014 in conjunction with the HENAR Foundation and the Ministry of Health\u00ad\u2014has developed an intensive, one-year, 32-credit hybrid version of Boston University\u2019s Master\u2019s Degree in Health Professions Education program for residency program leaders in Armenia to learn medical education and curriculum development skills. The program is designed to equip Armenian physicians and clinical educators with contemporary competencies in leadership, teaching, research, and monitoring and evaluation skills. Physicians will graduate from the program with the skills and toolsets to lead their faculties to help develop competency-based training across all specialties in the Armenian healthcare system.<\/p>\n

Six Masters\u2019 degree candidates\u2014mid-career physicians in leadership positions with a demonstrated interest in advancing medical education in Armenia\u2014started the program in September 2025. Lectures are delivered on-line by BU faculty, who then will travel to Armenia three times in the next year to help run week-long workshops in revising medical curricula, developing clinical teaching tools, and developing monitorin and evaluation methods. The first Training-of-Trainer (ToT) workshops were held the week of October 7-10 in Yerevan, with over 150 doctors in attendance, held at YSMU and at ANIH.<\/p>\n

For the rest of the academic year, the Masters\u2019 students will continue to conduct ToT workshops every two weeks with 20-30 participants each from their respective institutions, transforming their departments\u2019 residency curricula and monitoring and evaluation methods. BU faculty will return to Armenia in January and June 2026 to help conduct the other two week-long ToT workshops, and then the Masters\u2019 students will travel to the US in summer 2026 for six weeks of intensive training at CASOM and health centers in Boston.<\/p>\n
