Dr. Afifi received her B.S. in Biology from Suffolk University and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the Anatomy and Neurobiology Department at Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Her graduate work at CAMED was alongside Drs. Jarrett Rushmore and Antoni Valero-Cabre studying the effects of non-invasive neurostimulation on visuo-spatial recovery following parietal cortex injury. Dr. Afifi has years of experience teaching at the medical school level in anatomy, neuroscience, and histology. Currently Dr. Afifi is the director of two graduate-level anatomy courses in addition to teaching the 1st and 4th-year medical students in gross anatomy, neuroscience, and clinical anatomy. Dr. Afifi also received her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is passionate about psychology and wellness.
