Alexander Ian More, PhD
Postdoc

Dr. More is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Boston University. He is co-mentored by Drs. Jennifer Luebke, Chandramouli Chandrasekaran, and Maya Medalla. Dr. More received his B.S. from Northeastern University in Behavioral Neuroscience and his Ph.D. from Brown University in Neuroscience. His dissertation and graduate work focused on neocortical inhibition and sensory and behavioral representation by PV interneurons in the somatosensory and visual cortices of mice.
Dr. More received a fellowship from the Center for Systems Neuroscience and is currently studying PV interneurons in the frontal neocortex of the non-human primate. His research assesses PV interneuron dynamics during decision-making in the primate and also characterizes the function properties of PV in the slice preparation. Implementation of these in vivo and in vitro electrophysiological recordings will provide critical insight into the role of PV in the primate prefrontal cortex.
