The BUMC Recycling Pilot is moving quickly!  In just four months, we’ve almost doubled our monthly rate of recycling.

Our first recycling tonnage report of 2009 is in from Save that Stuff, and the news is great!  The full two-page report is below in .PDF format, but the BUMC has almost tripled its level of recycled material over Feb-March of 2008.  This is fantastic news – now we need to continue this upward trend where we can and, even more importantly, learn where we can start to reduce our need for materials or completely cut them out.

On Friday, February 6th, the Sustainability Committee convened its second meeting with the BUMC Sustainability Departmental Liaisons for the purpose of updating the campus on new sustainability initiatives, introducing the University’s recently hired Director of Sustainability, Dennis Carlberg, and gathering feedback about new directions for sustainability work at BUMC.
