Dr. Wilson attends in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and on the Pulmonary Consultation Service at Boston Medical Center.

Dr. Wilson is a clinical practice guideline methodologist who has expertise in appraising the literature, presenting the evidence, and writing and grading evidence-based recommendations. He serves as a Deputy Editor of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at UpToDate®, an electronic clinical resource for physicians. As deputy editor, he writes concise reviews of topics related to Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine, reviews the medical literature daily, and updates each topic with the latest medical evidence. For each topic, Dr. Wilson formulates evidence-based recommendations and grades each recommendation to reflect the quality of evidence supporting the recommendation.

Dr. Wilson has also served as the methodologist for clinical practice guideline panels for various organizations and teaches about how to critically appraise the literature and apply the evidence to clinical practice. As a result of his work, Dr. Wilson received the 2009 Clinical Teaching Award, is listed in “America’s Top Physicians”, and was recognized as a “Clinical Expert” at the 2007 American Thoracic Society International Conference.
