Interested in becoming a PsychSIG Officer?

Duties of the co-chairs include:

(1) Being in charge of planning 4-5 events/academic year including at least one residents panel discussion. This includes:

  • Finding and inviting speakers to come and talk with the students on topics of interest.
  • Reserving a room for the specific date and time.
  • Organizing lunch catering
  • Applying for SCOMSA funding at least 6 weeks in advance of the event
  • Sending the announcement out to all 4 class listservs.

(2) Applying for SCOMSA organizational funding once per semester.

(3) Sending your updated mission statement to the Office of Student Affairs, along with updated officer names and website link. This should typically be done by August 1st in order to ensure addition in the next printing of the student pocket calendars and inclusion on the list of student organizations on OSA’s website.

(4) Finding ways to make the group more efficient in its mission and always looking for new avenues to pursue for its growth.
