  • Education Dr. Yelena Bogdanova is a Principal Investigator at the VA Boston Healthcare System and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Bogdanova holds a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neurosciences and a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology. She currently directs three federally funded clinical trials of cognitive rehabilitation and neuromodulation in blast-induced TBI. Her research program aims to improve and restore cognitive function post-TBI, utilizing cognitive rehabilitation and novel neuromodulation treatments, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial red/near-infrared light-emitting diodes (LED) techniques; and to optimize recovery and re-integration of veterans with TBI. Dr. Bogdanova is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist. Areas of clinical and research interest include: mechanisms underlying cognitive impairment and recovery in brain injury, and neurorehabilitation interventions for individuals with TBI and associated neuropsychiatric co-morbidities (PTSD and sleep disturbance).
