  • Education Karen Henley M.D. is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Boston University and an attending psychiatrist at Boston Medical Center. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. Dr. Henley has been working with HIV positive patients in the Infectious Disease Clinic since1991. She has been working with Boston Health Care for the Homeless since 1994, and is on their tem that care for the primary psychiatrist for most of their HIV positive patients. Dr. Henley provides both direct service to patients as well as consultation to primary care providers. Dr. Henley has been supervising internal medicine residents in their Primary Care Clinic sites since 1992. She works in conjunction with internal medicine attendings, with a specific focus on helping the internal medicine residents attend to the bio-psycho-social needs of their patient. She participates in pre-clinic conferences and supervises the residents in managing patients with depression, anxiety. PTSD, substance use and other psychiatric disorders, as well helping the residents understand and work more effectively with their “difficult patients”.
