Olivia Chavez represents GMS at SACNAS Conference

Olivia Chavez, a 3rd year in Dr. Olga Gursky’s lab, recently returned from the SACNAS conference in San Antonio, where she was the representative for Graduate Medical Sciences of Boston University. SACNAS, or the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science, works to change the face of science to be more multicultural and multidisciplinary. While there, she spoke to undergraduates and graduate students from across the nation on the opportunities at BU, and about her own experiences as a woman of color in science.
