Employees in essential services should report as scheduled. Essential services include, but are not limited to Public Safety, Facilities Management, Emergency Patient Treatment, Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and Mail Service. Medical, PA and GMS students who are assigned to inpatient services or clinics are expected to be present, if possible. Students who are assigned to outpatient services should check with their course directors or the policy at the clinical site. Multiple System Atrophy Program

Boston University Neurology Associates provides comprehensive clinical care for patients with Multiple System Atrophy. Clinical services include office evaluation, autonomic testing, medical management, supportive care, counseling and a rehabilitation program. Patients are seen by a neurologist who specializes in movement and autonomic disorders. Additional services include sleep evaluation, urological evaluation, speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy.

Under a collaborative project with the Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital, MSA patients can be admitted to the Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital with emphasis on blood pressure stabilization, rehabilitation, and improving muscle strength, balance and gait.

Boston University recently completed a multi-center, NIH sponsored observational trial on the  ”Pathogenesis and Diagnosis of Multiple System Atrophy.”
