Boston University School of Medicine Students meet with Movement Disorder Neurologist, Dr. Stephanie Bissonnette to kick off the second Parkinson Partners Program.

The Parkinson’s Partners program is designed by medical students and faculty of the Department of Neurology Movement Disorder Section. Activities include a combination of group and one-on-one meetings to create relationships between future physicians and people living with Parkinson’s. This unique program provides opportunities to improve student empathy and understanding of the issues specifically affecting individuals with movement disorders. Students also have opportunity to interact with neurology and movement disorder faculty.  Parkinson’s Partner’s aims to give future physicians from all fields a holistic understanding of life with a complex chronic illness while providing an important social space for patients.  This semester’s program started in September and will take place through December. Stay tuned for more updates of this exciting program.
