New SPH Financial Aid Applicants

2016-2017 Academic Year

There is no application deadline for financial aid.

If you are entering your program during spring 2017, please check back for instructions in early November.

If you entered your program in September 2016 complete these two steps as soon as possible.

Students that are beginning the standard MPH, BA/MPH or BS/MPH programs should complete this application process.  All other students please visit Other Financial Aid Applicants.

The 2 Step Application:

1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA. Our school code is 002130.

a. The FAFSA is required for federal* and/or institutional financial aid.

*Available only to U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents and Eligible Non-Citizens.

No parent or parental income information is required on the FAFSA application.

b. If you are not required to file a 2015 federal tax return, you will indicate this in the student section.

c. If you state that you “will file” your 2015 federal tax return in the student section, this will delay the processing of your financial aid award notification. You will need to update the field to “have filed” and include your federal tax information in order to proceed.

d. If you wish to apply for federal aid only; advise us at after completing your FAFSA. If you do not inform our office, SFS will review your application for institutional and federal aid.

2. Submit a signed copy of your completed 2015 federal tax return with all schedules and copies of your W-2 forms. If you were not required to file a 2015 federal tax return this step is not required.

a. Submit copies of your federal tax return only. Unnecessary confidential information we receive such as state or parental tax information will be shredded for your security.

b. Your financial aid award notification will be delayed if you indicate on your FAFSA that you have 2015 taxable income and have not submitted copies of your tax documents to SFS.

c. Please submit documentation with our Coversheet.

Documents may be submitted via:

Mail: Student Financial Services, 72 East Concord Street, A-303, Boston, MA 02118
