The Turkish American Doctors Association of the Midwest

The Turkish American Doctors Association of the Midwest is awarding two $1,000 scholarships to medical or dental students in good standing at an accredited U.S. medical or dental school with Turkish heritage or ancestry.  The Scholarship Committee will give preference to those applicants who demonstrate the most financial need.

The application deadline is December 30, 2009. Applications are available at the OSFS, or can be downloaded from www.tadam.org.

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans provides a two year graduate scholarship of up to $72,000 for continuing generations of New Americans to achieve leadership in their chosen fields. The Program was established in recognition of the contributions New Americans have made to American life and in gratitude for the opportunities the United States has afforded the donors and their families.

Pisacano Scholars Leadership Foundation

The Pisacano Scholars Leadership Foundation is accepting applications for the 2010 Pisacano Scholars Leadership Program. This program provides educational programs, leadership training, and funding for fourth-year medical students for a four-year period. Students who have made a commitment to Family Medicine and who enter their fourth year in the fall of 2010 are eligible to apply. The maximum scholarship award is $28,000.

Claricode Medical Software Architects a Waltham based medical software company, is offering a scholarship program to the students who can best answer in 500-1000 words, “How will medical software improve the future?”

The scholarship award money is broken down into a first, second and third place winner to be determined by a judging panel of industry experts. The first, second, and third place winners will receive $2500, $1500, and $1000, respectively.  All majors/concentrations are welcome to apply and it is open to both undergrad and graduate students.

Ruth G. White P.E.O. Scholarship Funds

The P.E.O. Foundation is accepting applications for the Ruth G. White Scholarship Funds.
Eligible applicants must be female residents of California, seeking a degree in the broad field of medicine, who have completed their first year of graduate study. Applications are sent only by written postal or email request from the applicants between September 1, 2009-January 10th 2010.

The Iris-Samuel Rothman Scholarship

The Iris-Samuel Rothman Scholarship is available to any male student who lost his mother, and either has lost his father or does not have a father available to him. Five scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 will be awarded. For additional details, please visit www.iris-samuelrothmanscholarship.org

Massachusetts Medical Society

The Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) offers various scholarship, grants and loan opportunities ranging from $250 to $10,000 annually. For more details about the various awards, criteria and qualifications, please visit www.massmed.org/scholarships.

National Health Service Corps (NHSC)

This program is for health professional students interested in primary health care specialties and committed to serving all or part of their career in a federally designated health professional shortage area (HSPA). The scholarship provides full tuition and fees, 12 monthly stipends and other reasonable education expenses.

U.S. Air Force Scholarships

The United States Air Force offers medical school 1 to 4-year scholarships to all* medical students! Benefits include full medical school tuition and health insurance, payment for books, equipment, and lab fees required for study, and a $1,907 monthly living expense stipend. U.S. Army Scholarships

The U.S. Army has 1, 2, 3 and 4-year scholarships (including 100% tuition, a $1,907 monthly stipend, subject to increases each year, and reimbursement for required books, fees, equipment and health insurance) as well as 1/2 year scholarships available for students attending any accredited Medical, Dental, Optometry, Nurse Anesthesia and Clinical Psychology (PhD) program.

U.S. Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program

The U.S. Navy scholarship will pay your full tuition, as well as required book fees, and provide you with a monthly stipend of more than $1,235 per month. You must be a U.S. citizen, in excellent health, willing to relocate after graduation and graduate prior to your 40th birthday.

U.S. Navy Dental Scholarships and Financial Assistance Programs

The Navy’s Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) provides tuition assistance for up to four years of dental school, including all required fees and expenses, books and equipment as well as a monthly allowance of at least $1,279.

In return for a Naval commitment, their Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP) provides military pay and allowances, plus benefits for up to 48 months while still in school.

Their Financial Assistance Program (FAP) provides an extra payment of at least $27,003, plus a monthly allowance of at least $1,279 for dentists in certain specialties.
