Announcement – Entrance Counseling – Extra Sessions

DEAR DENTAL STUDENTS,

Student Financial Services (SFS) is pleased to announce that we have added additional Entrance Counseling Sessions for the Goldman School of Dental Medicine through September 4th for your convenience.

We encourage you to sign up for a Session to insure that the financial aid you are receiving is posted to your account while also allowing us to release any available funds to you for your living expenses.

As previously stated in materials provided to you from the Department of Education and SFS, Entrance Counseling is required of all FIRST-TIME BORROWERS of federal loans and of those who have been awarded institutional loans. At the session, you will be informed of your rights and responsibilities relating to the type(s) of loan(s) you are borrowing, sign institutional promissory notes, and get answers about the financial aid process for 2008-09 and future academic years.

Direct Loan only borrowers can complete the Entrance Counseling requirement at www.bu.edu/finaid. All other FIRST-TIME BORROWERS with institutional awards, which could be in addition to federally awarded loans, must register for a session.

Again, until you complete your Entrance Counseling requirement, funds cannot post to your student account which will delay receipt of funds for living expenses. If you do not sign up for a Session we will assume that you are not interested in receiving institutional aid and will remove it from your account.
