Orthopaedic Trauma

The Orthopaedic Trauma Service provides orthopaedic trauma care for seriously injured patients with complex orthopaedic injuries. Acute multi-trauma patients are accepted as well as outpatient referrals.

Paul Tornetta, III, MD, is the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at the Boston Medical Center and a professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Boston University School of Medicine. His research interests focus on the clinical and technical aspects of orthopaedic trauma surgery and the injured patient. His current studies involve intramedullary nailing, elderly injury patterns, fracture healing, complex articular fractures and minimally invasive surgery.
