Students from Boston University School of Medicine are routinely assigned to the sevice for two weeks   during their third year, and are offered a one month elective during their fourth year; clinical electives   (Clerkships) by fourth year students from other medical schools are advised for those contemplating       application to our Residency Training Program in Otolaryngology and are welcome when authorized by     their Dean and scheduled through our Coordinator of Training, Olivia Terrell.

  Resident Education

The Boston University (Boston Medical Center) Training Program in Otolaryngology- Head and     Neck Surgery is a five-year program, fully accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical   Education. The Program offers a large and diverse clinical and surgical experience, close supervision by   over twenty full-time faculty, a strong didactic program and opportunity for research in one the world’s   most exciting centers of learning, Boston.

   Fellows

Fellows working in the clinical aspects of Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery tend to compete with the Residents for clinical experiences; therefore, clinical Fellowships are not offered by our Program.     Fellowships in a basic science related to Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery (for instance, Molecular Biology) may be arranged.

 

   Visitors

Visits by Professionals interested in any aspect of Otolaryngology as practiced by our Department are   welcome. Scheduled “Rounds”, CPCs & Lectures, and Didactic Series of Topics (lectures, but not the laboratory sessions) are open to all, and CME credits can be provided for most. To schedule visits for other purposes, contact the Department Secretary, Nina Leech.
