William Cruikshank, PhD

Cruikshank-Portrait-croppedWilliam Cruikshank, PhD: Dr. Cruikshank, Professor of Medicine, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Boston University, recieved his doctorate degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1988.  He is Director of the new Molecular and Translational Medicine Graduate Program within the Department of Medicine.  In addition Dr. Cruikshank is the Director of Immunology at the Pulmonary Center, as well as serving as the Boston Medical Center IACUC Chair for the past six years.

Dr. Cruikshank  has been conducting basic science and translational research for the past 34 years and has over 160 publications in peer reviewed journals.  His research addresses the development of asthma as well as mechanistic steps involved in the onset of cutaneous T cell lymphomas.  Dr. Cruikshank is currently focused on increasing diversity, and the awareness of the benefits of diversity, within the graduate programs at BUSM and is currently the Director of the Summer Undergraduate Research Program, providing summer research opportunities for under-represented minorities.
