Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students 2003

ANNUAL BIOMEDCIAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE FOR MINORITY STUDENTS
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
OCTOBER 15-18, 2003

A delegation from Boston University and Boston University Medical Center attended the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) in San Diego, California from October 15 – 18, 2003. This conference is attended annually by approximately 3000 individuals, consisting of 1500 undergraduate minority students interested in the biomedical sciences and research, 300 graduate students as well as faculty, program directors and representatives from industry and academic institutions.

For the first time BU and BUMC had a booth in the exhibit area, and attracted large numbers of the attendees who were given information about the many research training opportunities at the University and the Medical Center. The highlight of our exhibit was the raffle of a PDA, an event that garnered the names of 150 attendees who learned about the many programs which are offered by Boston University and Boston University Medical Center.
