Developing  Effective Student Teams A participatory workshop to help faculty implement simple approaches to improve student teamwork.

Date:        Tuesday, September 8, 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Location: Conference Room, Administrative Offices, Mugar Memorial Library (Charles River Campus)

 

Creating Effective Learning Environments: Five Easy Steps to Peer Instruction – A participatory workshop to introduce active learning environments and peer instruction.

Date:        Thursday, September 17, 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Location: Conference Room, Administrative Offices, Mugar Memorial Library (Charles River Campus)

 

Measuring Active Learning in Classrooms – An introduction to a simple tool to measure the amount and type of active learning in classrooms.
Dates and Locations:
Thursday, September 17, 12:30-2:00 p.m.; School of Medicine (room to be announced)
Thursday, October 1, 9:30-11:00 a.m;  Conference Room, Administrative Offices, Mugar Memorial Library (Charles River Campus)

 

An Introduction to Active Learning – Discussion of the cognitive framework behind active learning and different approaches to implementation that improves critical thinking and teamwork.
Date: Monday, October 5, 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Location: 670 Albany Street, Room 107 (Medical Campus)

 

Flipped Classrooms, Blended Learning – A workshop to build the background knowledge, develop the skills, and begin to reform course content to create flipped and blended classes.
Date: Tuesday, September 22, 12:30-2:00 p.m.
Location: L-Building, Room 206 (Medical Campus)
