Facilities
The Department of Microbiology is located in contiguous space on the 5th floor of the Housman Research Building and the Instructional Building at Boston University Medical Campus. The Department includes conference rooms and a departmental library, and individual and shared laboratory facilities, including biosafety level 2 and 3 suites. In addition to the specialized equipment within the Department, being placed at the heart of the Medical Campus there is easy access to shared resource facilities including a transgenic core, microarray core and proteomics resource, electron microscopy, laser confocal and deltavision facilities, MoFlo Cell Sorting resource, Mass Spectometry/proteomics facility, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy facility. Significant new shared core facilities will also be available as part of the NEIDL Institute.
