Title: Interdisciplinary Study of Two Novel Anticonvulsants in Alcoholism

  • Description: The major goal of this project is to examine the effects of representative anticonvulsants from three chemical classes (topiramate, levetiracetam, zonisamide) on ethanol consumption and neurotoxicity in alcohol dependent subjects.
  • Title: Phase 2, Double Blind, Placebo–Controlled Trial to Assess the   Efficacy of Varenicline Tartrate for Alcohol Dependence in Very Heavy Drinkers.

  • Summary: The major goal of this project is to examine the effectiveness of a brief, tailored primary and secondary risk reduction strategy to CAU for people with serious mental illness.
  • Title: A Randomized Controlled Trial to Reduce Hospital Readmission Among Medical Patients with Depressive Symptoms
  • Sponsor: Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
  • Role: Co Investigator
  • Summary: The main goal of this project is to augment the ReEngineered Discharge (RED) — an evidence-based process to prepare patients for discharge — with a care treatment program for depression using a care manager in collaboration with primary care physicians to deliver self-management education, antidepressant medication and referral to mental health professionals.
