Admissions Process & Applying


Applications must be completed online. As part of the application, there is a nonrefundable $95.00 application fee. Applications will not be considered complete until payment has been received. The application portal can be found here.

Components of the application:

  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Official undergraduate transcript (and graduate transcript if applicable).
  • Personal statement (a minimum of 200 words) describing your background and interests relevant to entering the mental health counseling profession.
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores (Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) scores are also acceptable) ETS code 3087.

For applicants from countries where English is not the language of instruction, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores must also be submitted. Minimum score requirements are as follows:


  • Paper-based test: 550
  • Internet-based test
    • Reading: 21
    • Listening: 18
    • Speaking: 23
    • Writing: 22


  • Band score: 7.0
